“Eleven years in the making, A.E.Landes Photography has been a surprising and evolving passion project since the beginning. I sought a wide array of photographic subject matter from the beginning: large corporate events, editing for a wildlife safari company, off-beat unique weddings, professional mountain bike racing (yes, you read that right), and team headshot sessions.
Finally, I had the opportunity to photograph important architectural project here in Virginia from a previous client, and Yes. I was hooked.
A few things remained consistent in my photography even as the subject matter changed:
1) Bright, true-to-life colors,
2) Convey a sense of place and context, and
3) Sharp, usable, and workable image files.
These consistencies has made my work as valuable to my clients who are looking to be represented in these ways. And almost coming full-circle back to landscapes and spaces at the very beginning of journey, I have found creating architectural photography for these clients to be fulfilling and pushing creativity.
Most importantly, the clients with whom I work with have visions and priorities of their own – my images are just a piece of their work. It is fulfilling when I hear of my clients’ successes using the images in business. The photographs are used to bid out larger projects, memorialize important builds, and show their work within award circles. I find it humbling and important that more people will see the photograph of a building than with their own eyes.
