Kim and Steve had a lot of fun at their wedding – I mean, with lots of kids, a moonbounce, bike ramps, balloons, and a desert bar full of candy (ahem… not just for the kids), it was tough to keep up! I met Kim and Steve at a mountain bike camp over the winter, and I just knew I had to photograph their wedding. Between watching Steve come down the aisle and jump a log-pile at the altar and Kim holding down a huge balloon for flowers, I had lots of photographic opportunities to keep me busy. I enjoyed their relaxed attitude (and Hawaiian shirt dress code!) and the amazing food as well, and watching to big kids plow down the moonbounce was entertaining to say the least. A special video put together by Kim and lots of toasts topped off this special day.

Here is the much anticipated Rachael and Andy’s Wedding! Can I just say that I love photographing the wonderful people of the Orthodox Church in State College? It is great to see so many familiar faces, and meet some new ones from across the Atlantic (Andrew’s family from England). We had a lot of fun from beginning to end – personal photo highlights being the tradition-rich ceremony, the infamous jumping shot, the shots of Rachael and Andy in the PSU Arboretum Gardens, and Andy’s reaction to his best mate’s speech. I think the guests got an idea of who Andy really is – and what a beautiful couple Rachael and Andy make.

Roxanne and Matt’s wedding was a party for party-people! And it was a bit of a collision of my worlds – I knew Matt through the PSU Cycling Club, and Roxanne through a few mutual friends (and I was lucky enough to photograph their engagement!). It was so amazing to play a part of their wedding, and the antics that happened during the posed photos was pretty memorable (human pyramids, jumping shots, and a pit-stop for the guys in view of the reception). There was so much dancing, cigars, and fun to be had – and it really was a celebration of love among friends and family.

I had a great time with Megan and Ben on their special day – from the shots of Megan and her mom beforehand, to the ceremony setting at the Penn State, and finally the fun reception with the family, it was all a very memorable time. My favorite series of images are the one of Megan’s mom and her sister, Megan and Ben seeing each other for the first time, and Megan dragging that guy out to the dance floor. Also, spending time with Ben’s family that morning was really special – I was so happy to be a part of it.

Blistering heat? Choking dust? Hill climbing for eight hours? Sounds about right for the Marysville MASS Mountain Bike Race. Jeez, I did one lap for fun and went through all of my water and just about keeled over. Throw in a nighttime time trial and a short-track race on Sunday, and that’s a killer weekend. I got lots of goodies (photographically speaking) throughout the weekend, including shots from the Slowest Downhill Challenge and the Huffy Toss. Kudos to Mike Kuhn and team for another great race (remember the Trans-Sylvania Epic? Same promoter!).

Set in the wonderful backdrop of the Toftrees Resort in State College, PA, Katie and Austin had their sweet ceremony on the croquet courts and the reception in the main hall. I had a great time during the pre-ceremony shots with Katie and the bridesmaids, working with this gorgeous, singular mirror in their suite. Katie’s wonderful eyes and the charming Mr. Austin made for some great formal images, and the reception photos were full of cupcakes, cigars, and conversations. Plus that crazy guy doing the worm and the other guy doing ninja moves. Yowza!

I met Blaire and Dan at her sister’s wedding last fall and needless to say, I was so happy to work with this wonderful family again! Blaire and Dan broke some of the traditional wedding rules – they had a very intimate ceremony with their families, and then broke out the cupcakes, a skateboard helmet, and dancing for the reception. For the couple’s shots, we made some great photographs outside in the back-lit leaves, and then moved inside for a fancy interior backdrop. Blaire’s beauty and Dan’s stoic demeanor made working with them so easy, and I can readily admit their devotion and love for one another is inspiring. You both have my best as you see the world together!
