Heidi and Todd's Wedding Gallery

I think Heidi and Todd are one of the cutest couples I have had the pleasure of photographing (can I say that?!). I don’t know if it was the intimate outdoor setting of their wedding, Todd’s great Star Wars/Star Trek quote references through out the night, or Heidi revealing her wonderful emotions during the ceremony, but it was so easy to capture their love for each other in the images. Being so close to all the action of the ceremony was really great, because a few times I felt caught up in the experience as well. The setting presented a few challenges to photograph in - no ceilings for bounce-flash, very dark candlelit reception, various rooms for guests to relax in, but I think the images still convey the mood and emotion of the day. Heidi and Todd - thanks so much!

PSU Cycling Club: PSU Mountain Bike Race 2008

PSU Cycling Club: PSU Mountain Bike Race 2008

I felt the need to fight off impending sleep to get these posted for all you cycling-freaks who were at Penn State Cycling Club’s Mountain Bike Race this weekend. If you think cycling is just a bunch of spandex-clad juicers with too much time to just ride bikes, I beg to differ. There is never enough time to just ride. I got hooked this past year with mountain biking, and so it brought me to a new level of appreciation of the sport.

All stereotypes aside, photographing road and mountain bike races have been some of the most intense events, just because of how much mental and physical energy is demanded of the racers, and the level of risk is just so high.

For now, here’s a preview of Sunday’s XC and Downhill events.

And for those of you with a lot of time on your hands or have a healthy mountain bike obsession, here’s the complete gallery.

Laura and Evan’s Wedding Gallery

Homemade pie instead of cake, about twelve toasts, a moving speech from a grandfather, IBC rootbeer, a huge family portrait, lots of dancing - Laura and Evan’s Wedding doubled as a huge family reunion. It was a common theme through ceremony and reception that this was not just about Laura and Evan, but it is also about two families becoming one. The speech from Laura’s grandfather during the ceremony is one that I still remember from this summer. The whole day went so smoothly from my standpoint as the photographer, as the light of the day was glowing, and the high, white ceilings provided plenty of room for bouncing flash over the guests at the reception. Thank you, Laura and Evan, for making me feel like a part of your wedding.
